Who This Ensemble Is For?

The Austin Ukestra is a differentiated instrumental ukulele ensemble focused on instrumental music.
Most repertoire focuses on single-note playing rather than strumming.  The group is led and conducted by Kevin Carroll.

Players who thrive in the ensemble typically:

• play low-G ukulele or baritone ukulele, or U-bass
• enjoy melody and instrumental parts
• can read standard notation, tablature, or both
• are interested in developing ensemble skills and musical literacy

Some members come from classical, jazz, or band backgrounds, while others arrive through the ukulele community.

Parts are arranged at multiple levels so developing players and experienced musicians can play together comfortably.

Registration Cycles

Registration opens three times each year:

• July for Fall Semester
• November for Spring Semester
• March for Summer Semester
