This 14-week course will include pre-recorded instructional videos of songs and their accompanying skills, practice exercises and a series of 1-hour classes via Zoom.  Students are encouraged to participate in classes with questions, successes and difficulties as the class unfolds. The pacing of the course will be methodical and structured to allow us to grow incrementally from session-to-session.

Source materials will include a wealth of exercises from multiple sources, among them Mickey Baker's Complete Course in Jazz Guitar, adapted to ukulele, of course! We will study a handful of well-chosen Jazz Standards with chords, tunes and solos that have been painstakingly notated from classic jazz recordings. These pieces will be new additions to the ever-expanding music library of previous classes. Artists include Hoagy Carmichael, Benny Goodman, Charlie Christian, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington &  Johnny Smith.

Materials will drop  9/9, 9/30, 10/21, 11/11, & 12/2 and include  Videos, PDFs, & MP3s. Classes will be on 9/23, 10/14, 11/4, 11/25, & 12/16 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm central time via Zoom and recordings of the class will be available.

Inspired by the popular Ukulele Jazz Band class, this offering gives students a chance to spend more time with the teaching between sessions. We will focus on just a few areas per month. Videos, pdfs, mp3s and in-class instruction provided. Time will be allotted for Q&A,  playing for the class, sharing of triumphs and challenges in playing jazz ukulele.
